The athletic fields are maintained by the Department of Public Works' (DPW) Parks and Forestry Division, as are all other town and school athletic fields.
Coaches, players, and parents with maintenance concerns are asked to contact their league officials. The league officials will be the primary contacts with the Park and Recreation Department who will provide all the information to the DPW and to the Trustees of Memorial Park.
Standing water automatically closes down a field, and no unauthorized maintenance work may be done on any field.
On weekdays, the DPW will check the condition of fields, including Memorial Park. After 3 p.m., when there is new information, the field status will be reported:
On weekends and holidays, league officials will need to make the decision on use of fields, within the guidelines provided by parks and recreation.
