Treasurer/Collector
Real estate, Excise tax and Water/Sewer payments made via the Town website are received in the Treasurer/Collector's office the following business day after they are paid online. Any payment made on a weekend will not be received until Monday.
Note: Any bill set up for autopay will be processed on the due date, please do not manually pay the bill if you are set up for autopay.
Responsibilities & Services
The Treasurer/Collector’s Office serves as the portal for all revenues billed and received by the Town of Needham. All bills for Real Estate and Personal Property Taxes, Motor Vehicle Excise Taxes, Water and Sewer, and other receivables committed by the Board of Assessors are the responsibility of the collector.
Ambulance bills and Parking Tickets are also paid at the Collector’s Office. Upon receipt of a written request and the applicable payment, the Collector’s Office will research and produce a Municipal Lien Certificate (MLC).
The Treasurer/Collector’s Office is responsible for cash management and the investment of town funds, the administration of the town’s trust funds, and the processing of payroll and vendor payments. The Town Treasurer also serves as the custodian of tax title property.
Payments can be made by cash, check, or credit card:
- Payments in cash must be made in person at the Treasurer/Collector’s Office.
- Payments by check can be made in person, via mail, or in the drop box outside of Town Hall on Garrity’s Way (the side of Town Hall closest to Walgreens).
