I hope you are all doing well and enjoying this Monday!
To all our Sunday Supper Clubbers - last night was a funk and we are not sure why. I tried to go on and it wouldn't let me either. For example our friend, Barbara write to me, " I was given a meal on Friday for Sunday's dinner social...I therefore was ready to eat and socialize tonight at 5:30 PM; however, when I tried to zoom in, I got a message saying something like your sponsor is busy on another meeting. I waited for awhile and then tried 10 minutes later and still got the same message..." Thanks, Barbara! I hope it works out next week - I missed seeing the crew!
Our friend, Beverly wrote, "I just wanted you and Stephan to know what a great service the taxi ride is...the driver picked me up early and it was absolutely no hassle. The ride home was equally wonderful. It is always such a hassle going to that location and the parking is a nightmare. The ride saved me so much anguish. Thank you Thank you many times over." That's why we are here!!!
Our friend, Nancy also wrote, "Yes thank you so much for everything! I am fully vaccinated thanks to your transportation help! I really appreciate all that you do!"
Our team is always here to help!
Our friends, Mark and Gerry sent this great video along.

NEWS/UPDATES
Our friend and Public Information Officer sent this out:
Needham Animal Control Helps Return Dog 5 Years After He Went Missing
In the category of you couldn’t possibly make this up, Needham Animal Control Officer David Parsons helped return a dog to its owner nearly 40 miles away after the dog went missing five years ago! Officer Parsons trapped the stray dog with the assistance of Missing Dogs Massachusetts. They brought the Basenji to Highland Animal Hospital in Needham to be cleaned up and treated. Highland Animal Hospital found that it was microchipped. It turns out that “Bay” the Basenji was formerly an Arkansas street dog and had quite the knack for survival. She was taken in by a Millbury woman and was at a sitter’s house in Framingham when she went missing in June of 2016. This amazing dog survived five New England winters and was reunited with her owner a few days ago. Great work by ACO Parsons and Missing Dogs Massachusetts!
MassDOT Awards Needham Grant to Fund Dining Parklets
The Town of Needham has been awarded a $57,200 grant from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation that will allow the Town to continue its efforts to support local restaurants beyond the Covid-19 pandemic. The Town’s Department of Public Works applied for the grant, which will allow the department to purchase and install two modular parklets, one in the downtown area and one in the Heights. The parklets will allow for increased space for outdoor dining and will include tables and chairs as well as planters and a guard rail. The parklets are portable and can be redeployed in areas that may be underserved by other outdoor dining opportunities. The Department of Public Works is aiming to get the parklets installed early this summer.
