Anticipated Schedule for April 19 - April 26, 2019

LED Street Light Conversion
Project is close to 90% complete. Contractor is continuing to address punch-list items. 

Town-wide Water Main Flushing
The Water Division will continue flushing water mains via hydrants. Flushing operations are weather permitting; this work is scheduled for the overnight hours of 11 PM - 7 AM.  To view the tentative schedule and for more information, please visit:

Central Ave Sidewalk Rehabiltation (from Forest Street to Nehoiden Street)
A Town hired contractor will begin removing and replacing asphalt sidewalks and installing granite curbing on Central Ave. Expect minor delays. 

Town-wide Street Sweeping  
A Town hired contractor will continue street sweeping town-wide from DPW (counter clock-wise throughout town). Sweeping will take approximately two to three weeks to complete.  
DO NOT PARK on the street from 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.

Hydrant Replacement - Riverside Street at Highview Street

Replacement & Water Shut-Off is scheduled for Monday, April 22, 2019 at 8 AM
**If the contractor is unable to perform the scheduled work, the shut-off will be re-scheduled to a later date and residents will be re-notified**

A Town hired contractor will be replacing an old fire hydrant near 76 Riverside Street. In order for this work to be completed, the Town will need to temporarily shut-off the water to the locations listed below. Water will be restored as soon as possible. 

The following locations will be affected:
      • 76 Riverside Street to 31 Highview Street

Water will be turned back on as soon as possible. The Needham Water & Sewer Division recommends that, when the water supply is returned, residents should run their cold water tap for a few minutes to ensure that any air and/or rust/sediment that may have entered the water service to your home/building has cleared. Please be sure to do this prior to drinking the water or doing any laundry.

Winding River Road Sewer Main & Pump Station Project
Sewer main installation will continue. In order for the new sewer main to connect to the existing main, crews will be working on Charles River Street at Winding River Road. A one lane alternating traffic pattern will be in effect on Charles River Street. Expect delays.

Winding River Road will be open to RESIDENTS ONLY, expect delays.   

Marked Tree Road Permanent Trench Repair 
Construction is now anticipated to begin Friday, April 19, 2019 

A Town hired contractor will begin milling and paving trenches on Marked Tree Road. A one lane alternating traffic pattern will be in effect, expect delays, please seek an alternate route. 

Water Service Line Replacement Program
Contractor will begin addressing punch-list items on Harris Ave, Newell Ave, Lewis St, Mayo Ave, Greendale Ave, Evans Road & Wilshire Park. Expect minor delays. 

Alden Road Sewer Pump Station
The sewer pumping station located on Alden Road is currently undergoing renovations for the installation of a new pumping well. Residents located in the neighborhoods of Alden Road, Pilgrim Road & Stockdale Road will notice construction related traffic and minor noise interruptions. MBTA Tree Trimming and Clearing along the Right-of-Way
An MBTA hired contractor will continue to trim and clear trees along their right-of-way in Needham. See attached notice from the MBTA that has been sent to abutters. Any questions about this project should be directed to the MBTA Customer Service line at #617-222-3200.
