Special Enrollment Period - Dental & Vision

Starting this month through December 20, 2019, the Town will offer a special open enrollment for enhanced Dental Insurance, as well as a new benefit, Vision Insurance, which will go into effect on February 1, 2020.

Submit enrollment forms to your HR Department by the deadline of December 20, 2019.

The vendors, Delta Dental and EyeMed, will be making two presentations open to all town and school employees as follows. Both benefits will presented at each of the dates:

  • Tuesday, December 3, 2019, 3-5pm, Needham Library, Community Room
  • Tuesday, December 10, 2019, 3-5pm, Rosemary Recreation Complex, Multi-purpose Room

Delta Dental – Dental Insurance

If you are currently on Delta Dental insurance, you will automatically be upgraded to the new applicable tiered plan and be charged the new corresponding rate (no enrollment form needed). We strongly recommend that employees learn about these enhancements and make changes if desired. This period is being specially offered to allow employees to enroll, change or terminate your plan as of February 1, 2020. The next available time to do this will be during the regular annual enrollment period in the Spring for a July 1 effective date.

EyeMed – Vision Insurance

The Town will be adding a vision plan to its supplemental benefit offerings. The Vision insurance from EyeMed will provide subscribers an eye exam every 12 months, contacts or lenses for glasses every 12 months and frames every 12 months. Employees will be able to enroll during this period for a February 1, 2020 effective date and will have the opportunity to add new or terminate each year during the annual open enrollment period for a July 1 effective date.
