Household Hazardous Waste Day 2022 Guidelines
Please review new guidelines in place for 2022 HHW Day event
- Waste will only be accepted from pickup truck beds, trunks and the back of SUVs (Material from the seats of vehicles or materials handed to us from residents CANNOT be accepted.)
- Containers will NOT be returned – this includes but is not limited to gas containers and storage totes
- Any resident who attempts to or exits a car will be asked to leave
- Residents are expected to wear a mask at drop off
The town sponsors one Household Hazardous Waste collection event each year for all Needham residents at no charge. A driver’s license or RTS disposal sticker are required as proof of residency. No materials will be accepted from commercial operations.
The Town of Needham has also entered into reciprocal agreements with 12 other local municipalities for Household Hazardous Waste collection. A fee will be assessed when bringing hazardous waste to a town where you are not a resident. Please view the details here: Reciprocal Household Hazardous Waste Locations (PDF)
Paint and related products ARE NOT accepted at the same location as the HHW event. All residents may bring paint and related products to the Paint Collection event held on the 3rd Saturday of the month April - October at the Recycling & Transfer Station (RTS). RTS Stickers are required for these events.
