The Department of Public Works has checked the condition of all fields, and the following decisions have been made:

The Needham Soccer Club's Memorial Day Weekend Tournament begins tonight.  The Soccer Club will notify all participating teams about field status. 

All other fields are CLOSED, today that are not permitted for the tournament.  Please check with your leagues over the long weekend on field status. 

Memorial Day services, to honor and remember all those who have served, will be held on Monday, May 27th.  Please go to the Veteran's Section of the Town website at http://www.needhamma.gov/index.aspx?nid=1812

Programs that use the Synthetic Turf fields will make their own decision on use of those fields. All calls should be referred to those league officials or coaches.

As of April 1st, the DPW checks the fields daily, and this message is updated AFTER 3:00 PM, weekdays when there is new information.

No field may be used if there is standing water, and no unauthorized maintenance work may be done. Field decisions are final and may not be superseded by other officials. On weekends and holidays, decisions are made by League Officials. High School and Middle School athletic decisions are made by the DPW and the High School Athletic Director, and those decisions may differ from the community decisions made later in the afternoon. 

If it starts raining after 3PM when fields were open, league official will make the decision on whether fields will remain open or not.
