Hobbit Immersion Camp | July 10th-July 22nd

The Needham Free Public Library is partnering with Signum University to host a two week Hobbit Immersion Camp. We welcome you to join us!

Who Is the Program For?
  • For adventurous persons aged 10-13 who wish to explore the world of Middle Earth and its inhabitants
  • For Pollard students who wish to make a dent in their summer reading list and read with friends 
  • For brave souls who will face dangers including trolls, goblins, wolves, enchanted rivers, spiders, and dragons
  • For learned folk who enjoy languages and the music of poetry

When Is the Program?
Camp Days at the Library – four sessions: 
  • Tuesday, July 11th, 2:00 - 3:30 
  • Thursday, July 13th, 2:00 – 3:30
  • Tuesday, July 18th, 2:00 - 3:30  
  • Saturday, July 22nd, 11:00-12:30

How Do I Get Started?
(you are not required to view the daily screen casts)
  • Pick up a copy of The Hobbit at the Reference Desk
  • Attend the first camp session on Tuesday, July 11th

How Do I Participate?
  • Read the book
  • Keep track of your reading in a Hobbit Journal
  • Attend all (or most) camp days at the library
  • Watch the daily online screen casts (optional)
