Summer Reading Prizes


Every child who registers for summer reading gets a free book and a coupon from one of our sponsors.

Lego Challenge--for every other two hours read, each child gets to add a Lego to their school's Lego building. 

Every child who logs 16 hours will receive a free book, a free McDonald's ice cream cone, a general admission ticket to a Paw Sox game and will be eligible to win grand prizes.

Children who read more than 16 hours for the summer will receive a free kids meal at Chipotle’s and have their names entered to win one of our exciting Grand Prizes.

2 general admission tickets to the Big E State Exposition Fair in Springfield.

A free bike for 1 girl and 1 boy in each grade for 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades from the Knights of Pythias

1 free Kindle eReader from Dedham Savings Bank for a child in 4th or 5th grade.

2 passes to Tree-Top Adventures canopy walk and zip line in Canton

1 day pass for a family of four to Rock Spot Climbing in Dedham or South Boston

and Bruins Prizes!

Children who read for the most hours will be entered in the drawing for Bruins prizes. Approx. 27 children across the state will win Bruins prizes such as autographed pucks,jerseys signed by the team and a ride on the Zamboni during the intermission of a Boston Bruins Home Game.

Donation Challenge!

Build a Better Habitat for Humanity

During the summer children and families are encouraged to make donations for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Boston.  Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization devoted to building simple, affordable housing for those in need and has addressed housing needs all over the world. Habitat for Humanity uses volunteer labor to build green, sustainable, energy efficient homes.  The following items may be donated in a specially marked box in the Children’s Room:                   
Work gloves

Carpenter pencils

Cloth nail aprons

Safety glasses

2-3" paint brushes
