The DPW has checked the condition of all fields, and the following decision has been made:

ALL SUMMER FIELDS are currently OPEN.
If there is a storm over the weekend, League officials will need to make the decision on whether they will use fields or not.  Park and Recreation will not have the answer for that!  Fields may not be used if there is standing water, and should not be used until at least 30 minutes after the last occurrence of thunder or lightning.

Programs scheduled on the SYNTHETIC TURF FIELDS will make their own decision on use of those fields. All calls should be referred to the league officials or coaches regarding synthetic turf fields. 


Reminder: All Closed Fields should not be used. In case of thunder or lightning, everyone should leave fields and find shelter in cars or leave the parks.

**If it begins to rain after this decision has been posted, or rains over the weekend, League Officials will make the decision on whether the fields will remain open or not.**

If this site has not been updated please call the recorded information line at (781) 444-7212 after 3:00 PM. This message is updated when there is new information to report.

The DPW checks the fields daily, and this message is updated after 3:00 PM when there is new information. No field may be used if there is standing water, and no unauthorized maintenance work may be done. Field decisions are final and may not be superseded by other officials. If it starts raining after 3:00 PM, League Officials will make the decision on whether fields will remain open or not.

Please be aware that during the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) this web page is not updated. If you have question concerning the status of any field during the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) please contact League Officials.

Synthetic turf fields will typically remain open during rain.  Check with your coach or league official about use of the synthetic turf fields.  Park and Recreation will NOT be able to provide information on specific practices or games held on synthetic turf fields during inclement weather. 

As there are many "lightning magnets" at all fields, including irrigation, electrical lines, poles and trees, no field should be used during thunder/lightning storms.
