Notice to Passengers: Changes to Needham Junction Parking Lot

BOSTON – November 16, 2017 – Commuter rail passengers who park at the Needham Junction station are advised that effective Monday, November 20 there will be 48 fewer spaces available at this location.

This additional parking capacity was available through a long-term lease that recently concluded. The MBTA attempted to renew the lease but an agreement could not be reached with the landlord. The property owner chose to lease this parking lot to a nearby business instead.

A depiction of where these spaces are located is included below. Passengers should plan their travel ahead of time and be advised this lot may fill earlier in the morning. With these 48 spaces not available, the Needham Junction commuter rail parking lot will have 131 spaces available.

In coordination with local officials, the MBTA will explore options to provide more parking that is convenient and affordable.

Monthly permit holders who want to request a refund should email or fill out the MBTA’s Contact Us form here:

The remaining parking spaces are on MBTA-owned property. Parking facilities and payments at Needham Junction are Managed by Republic Parking System Inc.
