[ARCHIVED] Water Main Break - William Street - UPDATE

water main update

11:45AM: All construction debris has been removed along William Street. At this time only the section of William Street between Sunnyside Road and Lynn Road is CLOSED. Temporary paving is scheduled to be completed by 11:00AM tomorrow (Tuesday, November 21). A permanent repair is currently scheduled for the week of November 27. All work is weather dependent and we thank you in advance for your patience.

9:45AM: Water was restored to William Street at approximately 2:00AM Monday, November 20. At no point was there a boil-water order made and Needham water remains safe to drink and use.  If you see discoloration, please flush your system for approximately 10 minutes.
- William Street is still CLOSED to traffic due to the degradation of the roadway. Our Highway Division is working on temporary repairs so the roadway can be reopened. A plan for a permanent repair is also underway.

If you have any questions, call the Needham DPW directly - 781-455-7550.

We apologize for any inconvenience. We will post updates as they become available.

Prior updates:
3:06AM - William Street will remain closed due to its condition and evaluated with Highway.
2:12AM - Water main has been repaired. We are activating and restoring the service.
9:00PM - The main along William from Sunnyside to approximately 47 William is shut down for this repair.
