[ARCHIVED] IMPORTANT CHANGES TO NEEDHAM PUBLIC HEALTH’S VACCINATION CLINICS

The Town of Needham will begin offering additional public vaccination appointments beginning this weekend, Saturday, February 6th and Sunday, February 7th. The Commonwealth has notified Needham Public Health that the Town will now receive the Pfizer vaccine, thanks to Needham Public Health’s ability to store the vaccine in an ultracold freezer as the Pfizer vaccine requires.

Online registration for the clinics will open at 9 am on Thursday, February 4, 2021. Appointments must be made online at www.maimmunizations.org. The clinic is named “Needham: Public Health Clinic.”

Clinics will now be held at the Center at the Heights (CATH), located at 300 Hillside Avenue in Needham, to accommodate a larger number of recipients. With the anticipated number of individuals to be vaccinated, the MBTA has notified the Town that it will allow vaccine recipients to use the Needham Heights commuter rail lot, adjacent to the CATH, for parking on the day of their appointment.

Please note: The Town will no longer schedule registration for online clinics to open at 5 pm on Saturdays. Because of the significant increase in available appointments, Needham Public Health will open clinics on an ongoing basis as doses are available. Needham Public Health expects clinics will be initially held one or two days per week, but that is subject to the receipt of doses from the state. Additional clinics may be added if the Department receives additional allocations.

Please continue to check www.maimmunizations.org for appointments in Needham or other locations.

Questions? Please contact Needham Public Health at needhamvaccine@needhamma.gov or call 781-455-7934. Note, this line is a voicemail box. Your call will be returned as soon as possible.

As a reminder, eligible recipients are currently those in Phase 1 or those 75+.

Learn more about the vaccine and how to prepare for your appointment and at www.mass.gov/vaccine.
