On July 1, 2009, at approximately 1:20 PM, Needham Police were notified of a robbery at the Sovereign Bank located at 695 Highland Ave. One suspect, Dimitri LONG, (age 32) was immediately taken into custody at the scene. Another suspect, Michael COTY, (age 44) fled the scene and was taken into custody on Country Club Road in Newton. Both are being charged with Armed Robbery while masked with a firearm, stealing by confinement/ fear, larceny over $250, assault by means of dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit bank robbery. Both subjects will be arraigned in Dedham District Court tomorrow. The matter is still under investigation. All other questions should be forwarded to the FBI Boston Office.
