Friends of The Center at the Heights

The Friends of The Center at The Heights was established to assist the Council on Aging by raising or obtaining funds or property for various programs and activities that are offered which were not being fully funded or supported by federal, state, or local government agencies.

Monthly Newsletter

The Compass is the monthly newsletter that entails the "who, what, when, and why" of events scheduled at The Center at The Heights and throughout the community. It is printed and mailed to over 4,000 Needham households by the Friends but may also be received by email or viewed on the website. Call The Center at The Heights at 781-455-7555 for a copy to add your name to the mailing list.

Contributions

The Friends of The Center at The Heights are responsible for financing the distribution of the Compass newsletter. They help the Council on Aging with special projects such as trips, programs and events, and provide assistance with other endeavors that support the mission to promote health and wellness. In 2011, with the support of the Friends, the Council on Aging was successful in receiving a grant from the Mobility Assistance Program, through the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, for a new 14 passenger, wheelchair accessible Van.
