Members
The Needham Housing Authority Board of Commissioners is comprised of five members. Three are elected by Needham voters; one is a NHA tenant appointed by the Select Board, from nominees submitted by NHA tenants associations; and one is appointed by the Governor.

General Purpose
The Needham Housing Authority provides housing for income-qualified elders, disabled and families. The authority administers both federal and state-aided housing programs with oversight provided by a five member Board of Commissioners all of whom are residents of Needham.
Current Units
The Needham Housing Authority currently owns and manages 436 units of affordable housing which is distributed as follows:
- 152 one-bedroom apartments for elderly/disabled persons under state programs
- 8 units for special needs persons under state program
- 46 one-bedroom units for elderly/disabled persons under federal programs
- 90 two, three, and four bedroom units for families under federal programs
- 20 federal Section 8 project based vouchers
- 20 mixed finance homeownership condominiums
- 100 federal Section 8 housing choice vouchers
Staff
The Needham Housing Authority currently provides staffing and management oversight to the Wellesley Housing Authority pursuant to a Management Agreement.
The Executive Director supervises seven administrative staff employees and four maintenance staff employees at the Needham Housing Authority.
